Xp registry error

Ok seeing an erro when trying to get on line at home.

Xp is prompting Can't get resistry value:key=software\globespan virata\adsl
value=driver type.

Tried to reinstall maodem (globespan was my clue there) but it isnt fixing
the issue.

Do I need to edit the duff registry value and then re install or just
reinstall windows?????

try booting into safe mode ..remove the device(modem and any multiples of)
from control panel >system>hardware>device manager

then reboot and let XP prompt you for the install disk(s)

post back if no joy

Reinstalling WinXP will not help you, Barry. Contact someone with more
