XP Recovery Disc

Hi,
I need to access the XP recovery console on a friends broken laptop, he
does not have the disc for this unfortunately.

Is there anywhere i can download this at all?

Hello Cy:

Your friend can probably obtain a Recovery CD from the laptop's maker
for a small charge, or the recovery console can be installed from the CD
of another's system. Of course the recovery console can also be
installed from any retail version's CD too.

Presumably you meant a CD from similar Windows XP system. Cy has been trying
to use a Vista CD!

Most HP machines have an internal partition with a restoration application.

Check your manual because I believe you hit F11 while booting up.

;)

It's been a while since I've reconfigured an HP.
