I have xp Home on my system now. I bought xp Pro from Ebay. The info tells me
to boot my computer with Pro , but it won't boot with Pro. It just loads my
Home. When I click setup I get a message saying my version is a newer version.
What does that mean(cause it has SP2?)
Does anyone have any suggestions? Do I need to format my drive? If so how do
I do that.
Does Pro really have that much more than Home to even go to all the bother?
Thanks

Why do you say that? I would have to give some explaination as to why I'm
returning it.

For the very simple reason that you don't appear to know *why* you want it.
For most people Home is quite sufficient. Unless you want advanced security
features, IIS, the ability to join a domain or to be able to connect up to
10 systems to a LAN, then you don't need it. Most people who upgrade from
Home to Pro do so for a specific reason - i.e. there is a feature they
require that Home doesn't have. You appear to be upgrading for no reason
other than someone told you it was 'better'.

Besides, are you sure it's even legal? 98% of all copies of Windows sold on
eBay aren't.

Assuming that your Windows XP Pro is a genuine disk on a bootable CD you
will need to make sure that your PC is set to boot from the CD drive (wich
is a BIOS setting).
