XP PRO STARTUP PROBLEM

XP STARTS AND THEN DISPLAYS THE USER LOGIN SCREEN WITHOUT A PASSWORD ON A
BLANK SCREEN. WE CANNOT GET BEYOND THIS POINT. USER NAME AND PASSWORD NOT
RECOGNIZED IS THE BOX WE GET

Could be your Caps Lock key.
Might want to look into that.

Have you tried pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL twice (quickly) at the "welcome" screen
and typing in your username/password there?
(If you have no password - leave it blank.)

you mean w/o an "Username"?

what are you typing/doing to get this message?
just pressing enter at blank screen?
 
Thanks evolution....the administrator was the solution....and thanks for the
tip on the caps

Have you tried logging into the default "Administrator" account? This
is the account that is creating automatically when you install XP. If
you didn't alter it, it should have no password.

If that doesn't work, I read some article about changing the keyboard
if Windows does not recognize your password, even though you are sure
of it. Might sound silly but try it none the less.

Oh one more thing, do not and I repeat, do not type all in caps because
the other people will see it as shouting and they will most likely not
help you. As for me personally, I don't really care about it but just
wanted to let you know so you don't do it again in the future. Peace
