XP Pro system updated to current SP & windows update level, logging on to
a Win 2003 Server domain
Mapping network drives on a separate Win 2003 Server domain; drives are
mapped by the book:
Setup through "connect as different user" option
Name = domain\userID
set to reconnect at login
Drives come online A-OK after mapping, but refuse to reconnect at startup,
login, etc. Get a "could not connect to drives" bubble notice in the systray
and drives show w/ red X in My Computer. Can double click on these and
restore connection manually A-OK.
Have tried w/ simple file sharing enabled/disabled, checked validity of
network settings and hardware network for possible latency issues. No other
network or login ID/PW issues w/ this system or network.
Looking at login/batch scripts as workaround "solution"
Worked fine in Windows 2000...
Any insight is much appreciated- many thanks!
