I have a duel boot system with win 2000 server and xp pro,
installed battlefield 1942 and after the install rebooted
then it would get to the blue screen and look like it was
going to let me log in but then it would reboot, did this
5 times, so then i loginto 2000 server and took a look at
xp every thing looked good ran scandisk on it and all i
can think of is that theres only 565MB left on the xp
drive. so i guess my question is how much space should
there be on a bootabule HD.

Try starting Windows XP in Safe Mode.

If it will start up okay in Safe Mode then open Control Panel - System
- Advanced and click on the Settings button in the Startup and
Recovery (bottom) section.

In the Startup and Recovery window click on the checkbox for
"automatically restart" to clear it.

Click on Apply and OK as needed to exit.

Shut down and restart Windows XP normally.

Instead of the reboots you should now get a Blue Screen Of Death error
message with a STOP error message. The information in the STOP
message will be a direct clue as to the underlying cause of your
problems.

If Windows XP will not start in Safe Mode then your next option would
be to boot with the Windows XP CDROM and do a Repair Install of
Windows XP as per the instructions at

Good luck
