XP Pro Installation woes "NTDLR is missing"

I am encountering an error trying to install XP. When my system reboots
after setup I get an error saying that NTLDR is missing Press CAD to
restart... I have tried reformatting the drive but to no avail.

Any help would be appreciated

I had the same issue. I used the program downloaded through microsoft that
made startup disks. After that I did not have a problem loading XP Pro.

I don't remember the url of where I downloaded it but I have the file. Email
me and I'll send it to ya. email (e-mail address removed)

I've already tried using the startup disks but I get the same error

this doesn't work either as my hd is NTFS not FAT32 so when i boot using a
win98 startup disk it doesn't recognize my HD. Using bootfix didn't work
either

Download the Universal Boot CD from http://www.ubcd4win.com/. It contains
an amazing variety of tools for working with Windows hard drives.

I get this issue now and then, in the mobo bios setup for no reason the boot
order of the hard drives will change from booting the primary master C, to
boot from the sata drive attached to the sata raid on the mobo. If I enter
setup and reset the boot HD to primary master all is well.
