NTDLR IS MISSING

I need some help. I have win xp on my computer but when I
boot up it goes tru the bios and ends with ntdlr is
missing. what is that does anyone know. i have tried to
start it up using the upgrade cd I have of win xp but it
won't work. Can anyone help me?
