how to make a system partition of a boot partition?

P

Peter

Hello,

I have windows XP PRO (EN) installed on two HD's, one is
the master (Disk O) and system partition, the other is the
slave (Disk 1)and is set as boot partition. Now i want to
remove the slave and put it in a second PC to function as
master/system partion. But as it is not a system partition
yet, when booting, i get the message that NTDLR is
missing.
On both OS i have installed many programs, and both disk
contain many data. So how can i turn the bootpartion into
a system partition (with NTDLR and NTdetect.com and so)
WITHOUT reinstalling XP completely?(since this would cause
me to lose programs, settings and data)

Tx alot

Peter

Try a third party solution like Partition Magic. Without this a new
install is the only way. Not only do the necessary startup files need to be
replaced but all the registry references to your drive.
