XP Pro Hibernation

I put my machine running XP pro into hibernation mode (less noise), but I
can't get it to start back up! I've tried the power button, the space bar,
the mouse, and every key on the keyboard and nothing has worked. What can I
do?

Standby works like that, but hibernation is actually a complete shutdown, with the system state written to disk.

Open 'Power Options' in Control Panel,and set the feature to determine the action of the power button.
