XP Pro hibernation issues

I put my machine running XP pro into hibernation mode (less noise), but I
can't get it to start back up! I've tried the power button, the space bar,
the mouse, and every key on the keyboard and nothing has worked. What can I
do?

Hi,

Don't use that mode then - it's not always supported by the hardware
installed on the system. This mode is designed more for laptops to conserve
battery power. Desktops frequently have hardware whose drivers don't support
this. What you can try is to update the various drivers on the systems (many
use Windows defaults which rarely support power saving modes) using drivers
from the manufacturer of each hardware device. There is no guarantee that
will help, but it might.
