I have win Xp pro and she won't boot up.
I can't get xp pro to go into safe mode. I can't get to a command prompt.
She won't boot from the CD, and I tried to use a win 98 startup disk to get
to safe mode . but that won't run either.

Please help

thanks

Try using the XP boot floppies to boot the machine into recovery console.
What kind of errors are you getting on boot now?

The computer won't boot from CD or hard drive? What about floppy disk? You
mention using one but did not say if that was successful or not.

Some boot options that might help:
--If you have access to a working XP machine, this boot disk may help you
get into your XP installation. Once there, you could look around to see
what the problem is and try to fix it:

HOW TO: Create a Boot Disk for an NTFS or FAT Partition in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;305595

--Since your access to XP is so very limited, you may need to run a repair
install to get the system working again. There's a multiple disk set for
running XP setup:

Obtaining Windows XP Setup Boot Disks

And a reference page for various XP repair options, including a repair
install: http://www.webtree.ca/windowsxp/repair_xp.htm
