i cannot ping my own computor when i use windows to scan the network it
fails; i can ping local loop and default gateway and the router these are ok
i have no problems connecting to the web and my isp is ok
do you have any ideas???
my ip address is 192.168.1.2
thanks

Might be a firewall problem.

Otherwise, probably a broken TCP/IP stack, or problem with the network-card
driver. Uninstalling/reinstalling often cures.

Might also be an IRQ conflit with another PCI device. I know this isn't
supposed to happen with PCI cards.... but it does.

Paul - I admit I am slightly confused by your post. When you tried to ping
your computer - was this from the computers console? If so did you ping
127.0.0.1 or ping localhost? Or were you pinging 192.168.1.2 from another
computer?

ajr my network scan failed on ping 192 168 1 2 i tried ping 127 0 0 1 and it
is fine
i am out of my depth here but i am pinging from my own computor and the
scanfail report says 192.168.1.2 is my ip address also 192.168.1.1 is my
router but that is ok
does that make sense? i switched of my norton security and the windows
firewall is disabled many thanks
