unable to ping host computer

i have just got new computor which is on xp pro my client computer is on xp
home.i set up small network using the wizard said all ok.can connect to the
net with both machines.onthe host when viewing work group computers get error
message work group not accesable.if i ping the host from the client time out
fail message.if i ping the host from the host time out message appears.if i
ping the loop back on host ok.any ideas please

I would check the firewall first. This search result may help,
