Can anyone tell me what the real differences are between xp home and xp pro?
I am considering upgrading to pro.

XP Professional and XP Home are exactly the same in all respects,
except that Professional has a few features (mostly related to
networking and security) missing from Home. For most (but not
all) home users, these features aren't needed, would never be
used, and upgrading to Professional is a waste of money.

Also note that Professional allows ten concurrent network
connections, and Home only five.

and add to it the point that in a network Pro will support ten
connections - Home only five

Aside from these additional facilities the systems are identical. Don't
go installing Pro unless you have a specific need for one of them
