I downloaded and installed the Image Resizer program and
it does not show up anywhere. All I get is the install
program and then it offers to modify or remove program. I
select modify and then it installs again with still no
program. This was to allow me to right-click a JPEG photo
on my hard drive to resize it so I can e-mail it as a
small picture file. The Resize option does not appear when
I right click. What's up?

The image resizer will not show up anywhere. This is normal. If, when you
right click on a photo file (or a group of photo files) you do not have
Resize listed on the opening menu, repair this way:
Click on Start, click on Run and type the following in the opening textbox:
REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL
and press the Enter key.
Note that there is a space between ...32 and SHI...
After you press the Enter key, you should get a brief "success" message. Try
right click again.

I can't answer your question as I installed Image Resize and it works
perfectly. I never did see it "show up anywhere" except when right-clicking
a photo file. I assume you are using Windows XP. Is it listed in the list of
software to remove in the Control Panel Add/Remove software list?

Another option is to right click and choose Send To mail recipient. This
allows you to resize also (although it may be using the Image Resizer). The
Send To starts up your email software, creates a new email to send, resizes
the picture (or pictures) and attaches them to the email note.

Followed your directions and now I can resize when I right
click a photo.
Thanks for your help.

Also I installed the CD Slideshow toy and have the same
problem. How can I correct this to access this program to
make a Photo Slideshow CD?

You access this program through the program menu, PowerToys for Windows XP
CD Slide Show Generator
Enables you to view images burned to a cd as a slide show. Add only images to a CD-RW
drive using Windows XP Explorer and then write these files to a CD-R or CD-RW disc. A
new task is presented in the wizard for generating the autorun for the slideshow. Now
when you take this disc to another computer that isn't running Windows XP you can
still view your images as a slide show.

====================================

The CD Slide Show Generator Power Toy adds
a screen to your CD Writing Wizard. It simply
asks you if you want to make a Picture CD. Then
you select...Yes, add picture viewer. It will add
the necessary files to the CD.

Same thing here, you will not see this except during copying photo to a CD
using XP. After you install this, during copying to a CD a window will open
asking you if you want to add this feature. You simply answer YES and three
files will be added to the CD. One of the files will be autorun.exe. You
then load the CD in any computer, open the CD and click on this file to
start the slide show.
If you have some CD with photos, add one more photo to a CD and during the
copying this wizard window will open and you simply answer Yes. Once you
have the three files added to a CD you can save them in a folder and then
copy them to other photo CDs you already have to add this feature. Remember,
however, that if you distribute the CDs you still have to tell the
recipients to open the CD and click on autorun.exe to start the slide show.
This is good when you distribute the CD to others not on XP. If on XP they
simply open the CD and click on View as slide show. So, no big deal with
this power toy.
