XP OEM Setup

I am attempting to install XP OEM on a new hard drive but
keep receiving error message "An unexpected error has
occurred.(0) occurred at line 1768 in
D:\xpclient\base\boot\setup\arcdisp.c." I have tried the
suggestions given to me from a previous post (such as
replacing the RAM with Kingston). XP will now at least
attempt to boot and will get as far as "starting to load
windows" before freezing, automatically rebooting, or
giving the error message. Any additional help greatly
appreciated!

Thanks Rod but I have tried removing, switching, and
replacing RAM to no avail! Any other ideas?

Gateway G5-233SE system with MMX processor, Solectron
586intregrated PCI motherboard revision 2, 2x128 Kingston
100MHz DIMM (supposed to be 66MHz). Previously ran WIN95B
on 4G drive, attempting to install OEM on new Western 40G
and StarTech PCI Ultra ATA/100 IDE card.

It might require 66Mhz dimms. Yes, they're supposed to be backwards
compatible, but some machines, particularly name brands, require 66Mhz to
run properly.

I get a similiar message after taking my original CD
customising it by adding extra drivers that are not on
the shrink wrap original CD. It's not a memory issue but
it's a badly customised OEM windows CD.

I cannot for the life of me find the correct way to add
3rd party drivers. Microsoft sometimes causes nothing
but frustration, by not clearly and precisely documenting
procedures.
