XP - "No Audio Device"

sometime within the last month I lost the sound on my XP machine. When I go
into control panel > sounss and audio devices > Volume (tab) it says "No
Audio Device."

Can someone help me out please?

Lary - I am having the exact same problem. How do I re-install the drivers
for my sound card? Is this a disk I should have or can I get it on the
Internet or what? I have been messing around with deleting files I thought I
didn't need anymore. I guess I screwed up. LoL (Little old Lady) from
Martinez.....

never mind Larry. i found the answer to my problem elsewhere. I had deleted
something called Sound Max. I didn't think I needed it to make my speakers
work. I learn stuff everytime I use my computer. Gads!
