xp network logon delay to w2k server

Alan

I have this problem on several win xp pc's.
Using a w2k server with basic active directory config.
when i join a new win xp pro pc to the domain and reboot
to login, it takes over 4 minutes for the domain/pc to
process my logon.
I have the same problem with any network account.
If I logon to the local PC all is ok.
win98 pc's are unaffected by this

any ideas ?

Make sure the XP clients are configured to use the DNS server that hosts the
SRV records for the domain instead of an ISP's DNS server.
