XP Menu confusion!

I use XP SP3 and recently have messed up some of my Start Menu
folders/programs such that they were missing from my user profile (I am the
Administrator). In Explorer I thought that I could copy over the missing
ones from "All Users" Start Menu but this does not work.

How do I fix this?

Why can't you copy the shortcuts from All Users (or any other user's Start
Menu) to your own Start Menu? What happens when you try?

Recap: Right-click on the Start button and choose Explore All Users. Expand
various users' Start Menus. Right-click/drag the shortcuts from the All
Users menu to your own. Let go of the right mouse button and choose "Copy".

Click Start>At top of Start Menu(where your name is in empty
area)>Right-click>Left-click Properties>Customise>Advanced Tab at the
top>Add Start Menu Items 1/2 way down the page
