XP Media Networking issues.

Hi.

I have 1 pc running XP Media Edition and the other XP Home SP1, as I
can't get SP2 to work due to USB Bugcode errors (see thousands of posts
on the web!?). They are connected via a cross-over cable and network
adapters.
The Media pc is the Internet host and the Home pc connects to the net
and for gaming, no problems. However despite being also able to network
a printer I cannot 'view workgroup' pc's and I cannot share files... '
network path not found '. On the Media centre pc I have noticed that
the Network setup wizard reverts to ' this computer connects to the
internet via another computer ' and no matter how many times I change
that to ' this computer connects directly... ' it always reverts back.
I have had several pc's connected to the Home pc over the years and I'm
wondering if I can somehow just wipe all the old networks etc and start
again, if that's a possible option.
If you could give some advice, in a simple manner! I would appreciate
it greatly....

Martski.
