Network Wizard stop responding

I am trying to connect 2 PC's together to form a network. They are
connected together with a crossover ethernet cable. My host pc is
running WXP SP3 & my laptop is running WXP Pro Media edition. I have a
dial-up only connection, and when I run the Network Wizard on the host
PC, the wizard stops responding. I am choosing radio button 1. (This
computer connects directly to the Internet. The other computers on my
network connect to the internet through this computer).
The wizard on the 2nd PC works fine(2nd radio button).

Need Help! What is the problem?

At what point in the Network Setup Wizard does it stop responding? That
is, when you select radio button 1 and click Next do you get to the next
screen (where you select the Internet connection type)?

You can try to set up "Internet Connection Sharing" manually. See the
directions on this website:
http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/xp_ics/ The computer with
the Internet connection is called the "server" on that site.

If you have problems, please list the exact steps you take and give the
full text of any error messages you get.

It freezes up when I click next after the selection of the radio
button . I don't get the chance to tell about what internet connection
type.
There are no error messages.

And what happened when you tried the manual setup?

Hi
At this point you should Not use the wizard any more configure ICS Manually.
In addition use static IP on the client computer, and make sure that the IPs
is of the range thta is supported by ICS ( 192.168.0.x).
Maybe this can Help, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306126
