XP logs my son in and then logs him off

He's had his PC for a year. He changed his signon icon
Saturday and ever since then he can log in to the PC, but
it logs him in but right back out. He is putting in
correct PW and has the only signon to the PC. I reloaded
XP but the same problem exists. Any ideas?
