XP Keeps shutting down norton antivirus and other programs!

XP keeps shutting down my anti virus and update
downloads! anyone any help?
 
Hi,

I believe your Norton disk should be bootable, follow Norton's instructions
on how to boot the CD and scan the system for malware, as you are most
likely infected. You will not be able to perform the scan while WinXP is
running, as the bug is disabling attempts to detect it (which is why your av
program and updates shut down).
