| I am installing XP pro on a unformatted 80 GB hard drive.

It should not take that long. When I experienced the same
problem with my oldest hard drive I ran diagnostics tests using
software from my disk manufacturer and determined that the disk
needed to be replaced.

- Details about your hard drive such as manufacturer, age,
whether or not it has suffered any physical abuse and/or runs in
a harsh environment (such as heat and dust), etc.
- The results from any diagnostics tests using software from your
disk manufacturer.
