xp installation trouble

hi,
i have bought a new copy of xp home and cannot get the new
os to install. my old version of xp was crashing, so i
have formatted the drive, partitioned it etc. the new xp
(and the old, i tried it too) is stopping at some time
during the setup process. the system was unstable before
this, but now will not start at all. help!!!

It's likely some piece of hardware is failing. I would remove all unneeded hardware, and run setup again, then add it back to the installed system, a piece at a time.

If you can't load windows how do you remove the hardware?

If you can't remove unneeded hardware, you should seek local help doing it.
