reformatted, now asking me which OS to use?

Just reformatted my Dell desktop with XP Home SP2 (updated to SP3) and all
seemed to go well (was infected with malware). However, now when I boot up,
it takes me to a black screen and asks me which OS I want to use, and both
choices are Windows XP Home.

Wondering if I skipped a step somehow? I didn't partition the hd at all
during the reformatting, just deleted the old and installed XP.

It's something that is known to happen under at times when you delete
the system partition and create a new one and then format and install
without rebooting. Just edit the boot.ini file and remove the
superfluous entry.

Highlight My Computer, right click, go to Properties, Startup and Recovery
Press 'Pull Down' Select Microsoft XP then Press OK at Bottom
