Hi

You'll have to install XP from the disks.

its a comcrap and the restore was done when after the virus got into
it.. is there a way to redo by pulling out just the xp install? (so i
dont have all the comcrap pre-loaded stuff on there?

Thanks

Clinton

Yes you can. The majority of the time, although you have recovery discs, you
can repair the windows operating system before installing the Compaq
additional software. The risks, such as driver issues, though, far outweigh
the advantages of following the install as Compaq suggests.

they are not recovery disks per-say... on the new compaq laptops.. they
come with imaging tools so u can make ur own recovery disks.. the
image/recovery disk was done way after the virus embeded (not my laptop
haha) anyway all i have for "recovery" disks are those...

how do u extract it?

Thanks

Clinton
