XP install problem and question

T

THEHED

Trying to do a XP SP1 install on a Dell Dimension 9100. Problem is
that the keyboard and mouse are USB, no PS2 ports at all on the
computer. When at XP install screen, I cannot select any function,
ENTER for install, R for repair, F3 to quit. The keyboard/mouse does
not work.

Are the USB ports disabled when installing XP?

Why do I see XP install various USB controllers on the first install
screen before the options come up?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Do you have driver disks for the KB/mouse? If so press F6 at the very start
of setup and install the drivers from the disks.
Are the USB ports enabled in the BIOS?

See if any of this helps:
