XP in endless reboot

I just changed out a hard drive and re-installed XP. On booting, the start
up screen comes on and Win appears to be starting normally, but before the
login screen comes up I get a message something like this

"Not enough virtual memory or exceeded paging file size quota". The message
is up for less than a second so it's hard to get the exact message but this
is close. Then the system reboots itself.
Anybody with a solution?

I had the same problem after attempting an XP HE repair
via the install\upgrade option. What I had to do was put
my XP OEM Recovery disk in the drive and shut down and
boot with it in and then boot from CD and go through a
complete install. I lost tons of personal files but at
least my OS is working again. Next time I'll do the
format\install routine. Have fun.

See if it will boot to Safe mode - hit F8 as the BIOS info goes to black
to get the menu and choose it. If so, check settings at Control Panel -
System - Advanced - Performance Settings - Advanced - Virtual Memory and
Change Settings; be sure to click the Set button after selecting the
hard drive partition and changing anything, before going on
