Endless reboot

MY Win XP will not boot anymore.
After a while displaying the Windows boot progress screen
it reboots.

Even Safe Mode will not work.
I have also tried to boot from the original CD
in DOS mode. For some reason it cannot see my C: drive
the original XP boot partition. It can see the D: drive
the 2nd partition of my hard disk.

How can I recover from this situation?

You might want to check for hardware problems. Possibly bad RAM or
powersupply.

1) There is no "DOS mode" in XP.

2) You have obviously booted from a 98 boot disk. The reason you can't
see your C drive is that it's NTFS formatted and DOS doesn't recognise - nor
supports - NTFS.
Your D partition is obviously formatted FAT32.

3) You are making life incredibly difficult. You need to change the BIOS
to boot from the CD. If you don't know how to do that, then I suggest you
RTFM.
