Mr. Low

Hi,

I have downloaded the following software but failed to install them.

1. IBM Lotus Symphony 1.2
2. Sun Open Office 3.0

At normal booting mode, the Window Installer stop at the final moment and
started to roll back. The error mesage was that some files were in used.

At safe mode, the Window Installer failed to installed as the Administrator
has a set policy to prevent the installation.

May I know why ? Is there a way to overcome this problem ?

Thanks

I would check the Open Office FAQs. You could also use msconfig.exe to
temporarily disable all tasks under the Startup tab. Make sure to physically
disconnect your PC from the Internet while your virus scanner / firewall is
disabled.

Hi Pegasus,

I have finally found the solution to this problem.

It was actually due to disabling of all the Add On in my Internet Explores.
I did it earlier because of frequent crashes.

Today I enable all of them and I have successfully installed all the window
updates and other newly downloaded software.

Thank you anyway for your help.

Kindly share this tip with other users if they faced similar unresolved
problem.

Thanks and have a nice day.
