I have a HP pavilion 750n model pc. It came with Windows
XP home on it. The system crashed and will not load the
operating system. It just continues to try to reboot. I
have lost the cd that had the windows xp on it. Can I
use the windows xp home edition upgrade to reinstall the
windows xp or do I need to buy the windows xp full
edition?

Thanks

HP Pavilion computers have a hidden partition which contains the files necessary
to restore your PC to its original factory condition. Please read and follow these
instructions carefully:

Note: You must return your HP computer to the exact same hardware configuration
as it was originally. Disconnect all peripheral hardware devices except for the monitor,
keyboard and mouse.

You should contact HP customer service and purchase a replacement CD
for the one you lost. An off the shelf retail copy of XP Home may
work but since HP machines are proprietary, obtaining a replacement
from them is probably a better choice.

One should ALWAYS have a real CD for the OS you want to use.
