XP Home Upgrade - Clean Install -- I386 file

Well, I'm finally getting around to uprading the system.

I'm doing a clean install on a clean drive of XP home as an upgrade. After
initial system load and system configuration from the XP installation disk
(and before XP ever loads), I'm asked to reboot. When I do that, I'm prompted
to try to load the XP Service pack CD that came with the upgrade. When I do
that, I'm prompted to tell the system where the I386 file is located. It's not
on the service pack CD and it's apparently not in the files that loaded from
the XP installation disk.

Any ideas on how to proceed?

Thanx in advance.

The I386 files are in their own folder on your hard drive similar to this
C:\I386

Mary, thanks for your response. I suspected that, but the problem was that the system could not
boot to give me access to them.

I solved the problem in a slightly different manner. Again, I got the message after installing
XP, while installing SP1 from the SP1 CD (and before booting XP for the first time). I then
removed the SP1 CD, reinserted the XP CD and told my system to look on the XP CD.

My system then apparently found the files on the XP CD because everything moved forward from
there.

Thanks Again
