XP Home Ed. Guest Account

Stephen

In Windows XP Home Edition, I set up a guest account.

The guest account cannot use my "network connections" to
dial up my ISP. When you right click the network
connection for my ISP, the command "connect" is greyed
out. The network connection for other users works fine.

I looked all over for how to change the "policies"
or "rules" for guest accounts, but everything speaks about
Windows XP Professional.

Thanks for any help. A reply directly to my email is
appreciated.

Not much help to you Stephen but I have a related problem - I can't use word
or any other Office software on the guest account because Office requires a
new user routine to run on first time use and guest does not have the rights
to install software so the new user routine can't run.

Anybody from microsoft reading this should note there is a major flaw in how
the gueast account works and they must write some code that allows a user
with the administrator password to log on as guest, use the admin password
to set up necesary rights, install software etc. and then log off the admin
rights so a guest user can use the software or do other necesary things like
log on to the internet.

I have posted this problem to 4 different microsoft groups and the fact
nobody replied to any post leaves me believing microsoft know they did
something wrong but are not prepared to admit it.
