I have as of today lost 2 hard drives due to WindowsXP Home Crashes and not able to boot. The bad thing is nothing has been installed other then what was installed when i first installed XP ie sound card, modem and zip drive.

Now i hear they wanna stop support on 98??? They need to get the bugs out of XP 1st. Not all programs will run on it

You say you "lost" 2 hard disk, which suggest that you have had to
replace them and you blame XP. It is very unlikely to be the cause.

XP is not designed to run all programs. XP is not designed to run on
all hardware setups. Have you confirmed that your programs are able to
run on XP and have you confirmed your hardware is able to run XP?

Since you are happy with 98, I'm going to jump to a conclusion that you
are trying to run XP on a machine that used to run 98. It is possible
that that this machine does not have sufficient spec to run XP. Did you
check this out? Microsoft provides tools for this.

There are hardware and software reasons for a machine not to boot. you
give insufficient information to enable anyone to provide any comments.

Consider sticking with Windows 98. Just reinstall it.
