After installing AOL 9.0 I can no longer use Internet
Explorer 6.0 It is disabled! I can access the web using
AOL but not ie6. The AOL techs have no clue.
I am using a P4 1.6 ghz 512 mb ram and a 120 gb HD.
When I use AOL 8.0 ie6 works fine, 9.0 does not. Any
help would be appreciated.
Oh, I reinstalled ie6 after getting instructions from
Microsoft web site. No luck with aol though.
Please email me directly (e-mail address removed) Thanks, BF

Greetings --

I'm afraid you'll need to contact AOL's tech support for resolution
of problems with (or caused by) their product; Microsoft has no
control over AOL's product quality (or lack thereof).

Your problem is most unusual. it is the first such
problem I have heard about from anyone using AOL9. I have
AOL 9 and IE6 works fine.

Suggestions:

Perhaps you should uninstall AOL9, re-download (or get the
CD from AOL), then re-install. Be sure that no other
programs are running while you do the installation. Also,
turn off your virus scanner during the installation.

Other ideas include installing XP SP-1 installed, if not
alreadu installed. Then, keep running windows update
until all critical updates have been installed. If that
does not help, at least you will be up to date with
scurity patches.
