XP home "acccess denied"

I'm using winXPsp2 home.

Virus and malware not present

I keep getting "access denied" when I try to move files. Also having
trouble making shortcuts.

I am logged-in as an administrator.

Here's what I've tried:

Logging in as THE administrator (that secret account). Now I could see a
'security' tab for 'folder' and I tried to give myself permission etc.
Didn't work.

Ran 'regedt32' I edited the security settings in
HKEY_local_machine/security to give myself full permission. In the 'reset
permissions on all child objects and enable propagation of inheritable
permissions' I got a message saying the registry keys couldn't be changed.
So, this didn't work either.

I don't know how I got to this position where my account is not seen as an
admin account. I did allow some file-sharing when I set up a local network.

help, please

Thank you for the information

The SubInACL thing scared me so I followed the microsoft support page
(again) and managed to get myself as the owner of the folders............
took a long time................... I wish there was a "master of my
domain" key !!! I still can't create shortcuts.................. I can
create "this is not a valid shortcut" but not a proper one.

Ah Well
