XP freeze up!

A few months ago I thought I was doing myself a favor by
getting a DELL laptop and getting it loaded with XP
Professional...

Since then, I have had countless freeze ups of the
keyboard and mousepad to where I may have to restart the
computer four to six times a day.

I've looked at the 'hibernation' option and have
restarted by resetting the defaults - (f2 - f9 - f10).
Nothing seems to work.

The above were Dell's suggestions - what are your's? So
far I'm blaming the software! Never had this problem
wit '98 or NT.

most likely device drivers......

click start and then run, type 'sigverif'

this will identify suspect (UNSIGNED BY WINDOWS) drivers.

if any are identified, recontact your supplier and tell them to provide you
with new ones.
