Newly purchased PC with XP Pro replacing old PC with
Win98. Have used XP transfer wiz with no problems on five
other new replacements. Wizard starts but encounters
error at beginning of file collection process.

"CANNOT COMPLETE THE COLLECTION"
"An error occurred while the wizard was starting"
"To close this wizard click finish"

Tried creating a new floppy thinking that the files were
bad on the one I had been using, but no luck.
No explaination on what the error is, just closes.
Any ideas?

Thanks for your response Carey,
But no luck. Browsed the link you sent and it's pretty
comprehensive...and lists the exact error screen I am
seeing.
However,it states: " And if you do not have enough disk
space, or have an access problem, you might see the
following". (The Error Screen) Yep, that's the one, but it
doesn't list much in the way of solutions.

Have re-created the floppy with a PC running XP Pro SP1
and it still fails. Old PC has over a gig of HD avail, so
IMO, that's not the problem? Not sure on the Access
problem, can't even get to the data transfer stage, as it
continually fails at the beginning of the collection part.
Any help gladly accepted.
