This is a repost of a problem I reported in December, Unfortunately, the
suggestions I received were unable to resolve the issue.

There are certain applications for which I'm receiving the following error
message when trying to install them:

"Error - You do not have access to make the required system configuration
changes. Please rerun this installation from an administrator's account."

The application in question is an upgrade to Macromedia Shockwave called
"Macromedia Ultrashim". I am an administrator on this machine. Also, I
logged on using the "Admistrator" account and still encountered the same
problem. This issue began when I installed, and subsequently removed, SP2.

Any thoughts? Thanks!

I had similar problems with Macromedia after installing SP2. Many things
seemed to go wrong with my computer. My solution was this: Uninstall SP2, go
to your computer manufacturer's site and check for any changes that should be
made to your computer before installing SP2, then reinstall. I have a Compaq
over two years old and there was a lenghty list of "to do" items before
installing SP2. Now everything works fine. If you already received this
suggestion, sorry. This is my first experience with this forum.
