xp dont see my mousepad

I am using xp on a laptop and my mousepad is configured to a ps2 port mouse. I can not adjust the sensitivity of the pad and it is extreemly sensitive. I tried to connect a regular ps2 port mouse into the back of this laptop and it will not see it. What can I do to fix these problems:1 get xp to see the mousepad for what it is? 2. add the ps2 port mouse and xp use it also.

You need to go to the web site for your laptop's maker to get the proper
drivers. Laptops require special drivers. Most makers have instructions on
their web sites for upgrading to XP.
