Good mousepad material

I have been using some modern plastic, either High-Density
Polyethylene (HDPE) or maybe Ultra-High Molecular Weight
Polyethylene (UHMW) sheet as a mousepad for many months. The neat
thing about it is that it is self lubricating, I think that helps
keep the surface very smooth. It is used for truck bed liners
because it has very good wear characteristics. Fiddling with the
mouse to make it glide smoothly might be a thing of the past here.
On the underside of the sheet, some duct tape was applied to make
it dark. Having the HDPE dark to begin with might be better, but I
was not planning on using it for this purpose. I use a laser
mouse, a ball mouse might not work.
