Mousepad not working

I have a dell inspiron 15 3541 and had taken it apart to replace a messed up heat sink, Ever since that my mousepad has not been working at all, I took everything apart extra carefully, Made sure to get rid of static I had, and the mouse pad cable looks perfectly fine. The only this I did wrong was loose the little white clip that goes to the mousepad cable on the motherboard. Does that have anything to do with it?

And that would be the problem. The ribbon cable is probably not making proper contact.
