I have read so much about this in so many different newsgroups......after
trying so much, I am becoming much frustrated and
My PC just would not recognise the DV camera dn I have double and triple
checked all...cable, DV port etc.

My configuration:

Windows XP Professional
Canon MV500i camera
VIA OHCE compliant IEEE 1394 host controller (Microsoft driver version
5.1.2535.0 dated 01/07/01)
DV port checked by Canon (ok)
Original Canon Cable checked by Canon (ok), have alternative cables and work
ok (verified by others)
Changed slots multiple times
Camera switched on
......all the normal and obvious things tried out.....have seen many others
with same problem but not yet a solution

PLEASE HELP

The Camcorders... Canon page of www.papajohn.org has a number of posts about
using Movie Maker 2 with your model. Some issues, but not yours.

Maybe try the DVIO utility - see the Camcorders.... General page to help you
get some more clues. It's a basic one to transfer files to and from the
camcorder.
