Hello All,

I am in desperate need of assistance!!!

I have a 1394 card that I use to connect my iPod and my DV Camera.

my iPod connects fine, however I cannot get any video cameras to be
recognised by windows!!!!!!

I have tried with 3 different video cameras (A Canon XL1 Professional camera
included) and with two different firewire cables and they just dont work!

Windows does not aknowledge that they are attached.

I have a video due in 5 weeks time, and I have only edited a quarter of it,
i have about another 3 hours of footage to sift through and none of it is on
my computer!

i have connected these devices to my computer just 3 weeks ago, and they
worked then! please help me!!!

CPU: Genuine Intel P4 1.8gHz
MEM: 1GB DDR-SD RAM (333)
HDD: 1x 20GB Maxtor 7200RPM
1x 40GB Maxtor 7200RPM
GPU: 128MB GeForce 4 ti4200 AGP 8X

Hello there,

Have you considered removing the card? First disable it, then remove it and
then reboot a couple of times....that will ensure XP has actually forgotten all
about the card, then go through the usual routine of installing hardware.

Some time back I remember there was a chap with the same problem....the card
worked well for a device...and not his camera.......the card was an "on
motherboard" device which he eventually disabled and purchased a card version
and all worked well afterwards
