Video capture ruins internet connection

Whenever I connect my video camera to Windows XP
(professional) via the 1394 connection, I can capture
video successfully, but my Internet connection is
subsequently disabled. Once this happens, the only way I
can get my internet to work again is to restore the
system from a version that was saved prior to connecting
the camera. In reality, all I have to do is attach the
1394 adapter to the camera... I don't actually have to
perform a video capture. As soon as Windows recognizes
my camera, the internet connection is disabled. I have
other firewire devices (removable disk) that don't seem
to cause any problems.

Anybody out there have any ideas?

My suspicions are that there is some sort of registry
conflict, but I don't have any idea where or what it is...

I'd appreciate any help you could give me.

Thanks,

If you are NOT connecting to the internet or networking via firewire,
disable the 1394 NIC Adapter in the Device Manager. Reboot the PC.
Reconnect the digital camcorder and start again.
