XP does not detect modem

I have transpalanted an internal 56k modem which works fine on one machine
with XP - but the new PC does not detect it - have tried add new hardware etc
but still no modem is listed in device manager. Both PCs are Shuttle, both
running fully up to date XP with SP2
 
I'm not sure if this will help or not, but try looking in the CMOS/BIOS to
make sure you have plug & play turned on.
