xp crashing

My computer has windows xp and has crashed multiple times.
The last time it was working fine, then one day it started
going to a blue error screen once in a while. Then it went
to the error screen and started dumping my memory and will
not boot up or even reinstall windows any more. It goes
into the setup, but will not complete it. Some body please
help me. I am not at all happy with microsoft at this
time, and I can in no way afford to have it repaired by a
tech as I have four kids, who by the way need this
computer for homework also. Please help me!

I am no expert but I had a rash of severe OS problems,
not exactly yours but almost. In my case it has always
been a corrupt registry, the solution to is to reformat
the HD and reload Windows. If you have done this and it
does not work, then I regret I have no other suggestion.
