XP Boot Sequence

I disconnected a fan from my computer, and when I started
up, I got a prompt telling me there was a problem with
the boot sequence.
I reconnected the fan, now when I start up, I get a black
screen, with a flashing curser.
Do I need to re-install windows, and if so, will it wipe
my drives clean?

Brian, it wasnt the CPU heatsink fan was it? You can do a Repair
Install.
